Tips to Achieve Work-life Balance

Flexible Office SpaceA recent article, 5 Ways to Take the Grind Out of Working 9-to-5 by Matt Straz says that sooner or later the traditional 9 to 5 workday may become obsolete. According to CareerBuilder survey, more than 60 percent of fulltime workers believe that 9-5 workday is an outdated concept and they can’t enjoy time off due to work consuming their thoughts.

Here are tips to help employees attain work life balance.

  1. Flexible work time schedule

Not every worker works effectively within the typical 9-to-5 timeframe. Some employees work better before the cock crows and most effective between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. Observe what works best for each worker. Flexibility of time can utterly influence productivity and efficiency.

  1. The four-day workweek

Work on extended hours four days a week, Monday through Thursday, and have Fridays off could motivate the team to work faster and with greater focus.

A three-day weekend might as well give employees ample time to relax and decompress.

  1. Coworking

The shared office space craze is emerging in business world – -not dominated by freelancers anymore. Tech startups and small companies have adopted coworking in shared office spaces as a great alternative to the high costs of renting traditional office space.

Consider letting employees cowork for part of the week or even half of the day, or let team members have free control of where they work during certain hours.

  1. Sabbaticals

Companies experiencing high rate of turnover should think about ways to celebrate the long tenure of loyal team members. A nice long period of paid time off might be the perfect reward.

  1. Vacation bonuses

A week or two of paid time off is great, yet providing a bonus to spend on travel costs will help encourage employees to actually step away from the daily grind and get out of town — or even out of the country. They’ll come back revitalized and motivated.

Flexibility of work schedule, workspace and additional bonuses has a powerful impact on employee and business owner growth and success. YourOffice is also dedicated to your business’ success.
